American Idol: David Cook or Michael Johns?

David cook? for me, he’s kinda like having a taylor hicks ish personality..

Man, it’s a toss up. But, based on music sense and knowledge of musical theory, I’d have to go with David Cook. Michael Johns is blessed with an incredibly beautiful voice, but David Cook is so original. Every week, he practically rewrites the song. I mean, compare the Michael Jackson version of Billie Jean to the way David sang it last night. I wouldn’t have even guessed it was the same song unless David didn’t keep saying “Billie Jean”. Cook could write his own songs (a big plus in the music world), and I’m sure that Michael Johns could sing anything a composer cranked out, but songs composed by singers are always more heartfealt. Personally, I like David Cook’s personality better, too. He seems so smart and business-savvy, that I know he’d do well in Hollywood. (I’ve wanted him to win since he said he was a word nerd!)
I really like David Cook, his version of Billie Jean was great!!!

this is the first season of American Idol I’m actually watching all the way through because of him
I love them both. First, I was more into Michael, then David grew on me while Michael kind of lost me for a bit , then this week they were both amazing and blew everyone else away. So, it’s hard to choose, but David is more consistant and I like how he chooses lesser known covers of songs (Whitesnake’s “Day Tripper” and Chris Cornell’s “Billie Jean”) and did his own rendition of Lionel Ritchie’s “Hello”. But I do like Michael’s voice a little better, I think (and he’s hotter), but I don’t know. It’s a tough one. They’re both awesome and I hope they both go really far in the competition, even though I don’t feel either of them really needs it.
David Cook for sure. He’s my favorite. He has an amazing voice. David Archuleta will NOT win, I guarantee it, the kid forgot the lyrics to the Beatles song, how pathetic.
